London: The CCME, Al Hassanya Moroccan Center and the world federation of Moroccan Jews celebrate coexistence

Monday, 03 July 2017

Sponsored by the Council of de Moroccan community living abroad (CCME), Al-hasaniya Moroccan Women Centre in Lonfon and the world federation of Moroccan Jews are coming together on 6th July 2017 at the Yocef Portal Synagogue at 8 pm, for the first time to celebrate our common history and glorious heritage .

Established in1988 the Yocef Porat Synagogue is the only Morocccan synagogue in the UK. Estimated to be circa 2000 members living in Hendon, this community is immensely proud of its Moroccan  heritage. Both organisations have come together to celebrate our common heritage and honour our long loyal serving member of the Jewish community Mr Sydney Assor .
The event will also hold a prayer and a minute silence to honour the victims of Grenfell tower. This is a community event that promises to attract high calibre politicians and dignatories from the British parliament. Over 250 are expected. Moroccan musicians both muslim and Jewish from Paris and London are joining.
In a time where there is  so much negative media  and press on terrorism, this event will attempt to show that we can co- exist as our fore fathers have in Morocco for centuries and generations continue to do so todate.
