Moroccans living abroad : Mr Abdellah Boussouf wants the government to apply the articles of the Constitution (Al Massae/summary)

Mr Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community Living Abroad (CCME) called on the new government to apply the articles of the Constitution related to the Moroccan community living abroad in an interview with the Arabic-language daily Al Massae published on Wednesday 12 April 2017.

The secretary general said that the new government should assimilate its representatives in consultative institutions, governance and participatory democracy bodies in order to strengthen the presence of  Moroccans living abroad in their country of origin and hasten the organic law of the CCME.

Mr.Boussouf called for a better supervising of administrative services for Moroccans in Moroccan consulates, embassies or public administrations. He said the  administrative and judicial procedures should  be reajusted to the period of their stay in Morocco.

He also spoke on the important issue of training the imams in the host countries with the academic institutions of these countries. The secretary general  said that the executive should provide scientific knowledge on the Moroccan religious model and  realize educational tools in the European languages ​​through a National Agency for Cultural Development in partnership with the cultural institutions of the host countries.

The Secretary General added that a special attention should be taken to the sensitive categories of Moroccan migrants, especially the isolated minors, retired workers and Moroccans imprisoned in European prisons by hepling them with a legal assistance and guaranty their rights.

Finally, Mr Boussouf said that the expectations of the Moroccan community in Africa and the Arab countries should be taken in account, including schooling and safeguarding of the children's cultural identity, social security and the different problems related to the Moroccan women in migration.
