Exhibition: « Morocco and Europe, six centuries in the eyes of the other »

Friday, 26 September 2014

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of the Portuguese Republic Mr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva, the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), the Embassy of Morocco in Lisbon and the Judeo-Moroccan Cultural Centre (CCJM, Brussels) organize an exhibition under the theme "Morocco and Europe, six centuries in the eyes of the other," commemorating six centuries of dialogue between Morocco and Europe.

"The exhibition highlights the importance of imagination not only when Europeans come into contact with Morocco but also when Moroccans deal with the Western world. This dimension is essential for a thorough understanding of the evolution of these relations, marked on one side or the other by a real fascination "says CCJM.

Produced by the CCME and directed by CCJM, this exhibition enjoyed great success among the public and the press in Brussels, at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat, at the University of Antwerp, at the City Hall of Paris and at the Francophone multimedia library in Limoges. The exhibition will also have stops in Madrid and Strasbourg.

The launch ceremony was held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 7pm in the presence of the guests of the Lisbon Forum.  The exhibition will be open to the public from September 16 to October 15 between 10:00 am and 5:30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
