Paris: The CCME takes part in a conference about "Moroccan Berber Migrations"

The Arab World Institute (IMA) and the Berber Museum located in the heart of the Majorelle garden in Marrakesh organized on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in Paris, a conference focused on "Moroccan Berber migrations."

Ahmed Siraj, historian and representative of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), presented a historical overview of the origins and the migration waves of the Moroccan Amazigh and outlined the activities and projects undertaken by the CCME in order to promote the heritage and memory of migration.

The conference was launched by Mr. Jack Lang, president of the IMA and Pierre Bergé, president of the Foundation Majorelle Garden.

Before wrapping up the meeting, the public attended the screening of the documentary film "Tinghir-Jerusalem, Echoes of Mellah", directed in 2012 by Kamal Hachkar, professor of history and director.
