"Migration, diversity, citizenship: the challenge of living together" theme of the CCME's pavilion in Casablanca Book Fair

The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) partakes in the 21th edition of the International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL) in Casablanca from 12 to 22 February 2015.

For the seventh consecutive participation, the CCME devotes its activities this year to the theme "Migration, diversity, citizenship: the challenge of living together".

One hundred participants, researchers, writers, philosophers and journalists from around the world will provide insights and ideas related to this issue in the different spaces designed for this occasion.

Among the novelties of this year, three exhibitions embellishing the facades of the pavilion, a present in the form of calligraphy speeches of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on Moroccans of the world, a photographic exhibition by French and Moroccan students and a mapping of the Moroccans of the world.

As every year, the CCME will present at the Book Fair its own publications. For this edition, the council has published among others a "World Atlas of Moroccans," a book of interviews with "Moroccan journalists in the world," a book on "Moroccan expertise in Spain" and a book on the "image of Islam in the media in Europe: how to get out of the stereotype. "

A tribute evening will be dedicated to the mother figure or the emigrant Moroccan mother of the first generation in recognition of her role in the education of current generations of Moroccans of the world.

The Council also pays special tribute to Moroccans of Palestine, guest of honor at the Book Fair. It will trace back the course and the history of this community and the strong and brotherly relations between the two states.

In the mornings, workshops will be led by actors and intercultural facilitators around the issue of citizenship and living together for the benefit of some 300 schoolchildren in Casablanca and other cities.
