Press conference : the CCME explains it’s agenda during the Casablanca Book and Publishing Fair

The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) has organized, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the council in Rabat, a press conference to explainthe reasons  on its presence in the 24th edition of the International Exhibition of Books and Publishing (SIEL) in Casablanca, held from 8 to 18 February 2018.

Mr. Ahmed Siraj said, in the name of the CCME, that the topic chosen for this edition : "Moroccans of the World in plural Societies, Challenges and Opportunities", is a theme on which "we have been working on a daily basis since the establishment of the Council".

"Moroccans living abroad encounter the challenge of preserving the link with Morocco and being citizens in their host countries," said Mr Siraj. He added that the CCME can help them confont this challenge by confirming that migration is an opportunity for home and host countries.

Some 100 speakers from Morocco and several foreign countries twill participate in the 16 roundtables scheduled by the Council. The program also highlights the productions of the Moroccans living abroad who publish in the languages ​​of their host countries.

For their part the youngsters will participate every morning in play and reading workshops.

The CCME will also show its publications to the public. Since its establishment in 2007 until 2015, the council has published practically 100 books. In 2016, the CCME published 6 studies in Arabic, French, Spanish and Italian and 2 scholarly works. In 2017, 14 studies were published in several languages ​​additional to an educational game inspired by the book "Moroccans : migrants and travelers ".
