Madrid: The CCME donates books to the Islamic Library of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID)

Thursday, 14 October 2021

The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) has donated several books in both Spanish and French to the Islamic Library (AECID) of Madrid.

This selection is part of the CCME's institutional library with over 200 publications on Moroccan migration, its actors and changes.

Several of the council's activities have emphasized the key role of Moroccan academics in Spain in reinforcing cultural ties between our two countries, making it essential to promote partnerships and exchanges with institutions such as the Islamic Library (AECID) in Madrid and CCME.

The CCME is a consultative and prospective institution that is placed under the authority of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and is in charge of the monitoring and the evaluation of the Kingdom's public policies towards its citizens living abroad. Its main mission is to provide advice in order to ensure the protection of Moroccans living abroad, to reinforce their contribution to the economic, social and human development of the country and to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and the country of their residence.

The Islamic Library of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) is a national and international reference in the field of its specialty, namely the Arab world and Islam. It addresses the needs and information requests of its users through the update of its bibliographical resources and with specialized bibliographical information services, home and inter-library loans and the dissemination of its collections. In 2015, the library received the Unesco-Sharjah Prize and the Ibn Arabi-Hikma Prize in 2019.
