Mr. Abdellah Boussouf chairs the Jury for the 19th edition of the National Grand Prix of the Press

Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), has been designated chairman of the jury of the 19th edition of the National Grand Prix of the press, held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Rabat at a ceremony hosted by Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the minister of youth, culture and communication.

 "This award is of great significance. It represents a recognition of the part played by the press in the Kingdom, especially in the promotion of the fundamentals of democracy and pluralism," said Boussouf in a statement to the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP).

"This year's edition is a recognition of the efforts made by journalists during the Covid pandemic," he said, adding that " this juncture imposed a series of challenges, particularly for journalists who are on the front line in providing public opinion with accurate information and combat misinformation".

The other members of the jury are: Ms Jamila Chadli, chief editor at the 2M channel, Ms Nadia Mehidi, professor at the “Institut Supérieur de l'Information et la Communication” (ISIC), Ms Jihan Elktioui, journalist at the daily "Les Inspirations Eco", Mr Mokhtar Laghzioui, director of publication at the daily newspaper " Al Ahdath Al Maghribia", Mr Ali Khella, director of production and programming at the National Broadcasting and Television Company (SNRT), Mr Samir Hilal, editor and head of the multilingual division at the Moroccan News Agency), Mr Abdelhakim Badii, publication director at the daily newspaper "Annahar Al Maghribia", Mr Mohamed Bedari, assistant director of the direction of information of the first channel, Mr Rahal Boubrik, professor at the Institute of African Studies (IEA) and Mr Abdelhak Adimi, journalist at the daily "Rissalat Al Oumma".

This prize, established under High Royal instructions in November 2002 on the occasion of the National Press Day, brings together this year 111 candidacies for the prizes of television for investigation and documentary film, radio, print media, electronic media, news agency, Amazigh audiovisual production, Hassanian journalistic production, photography, investigative journalism, photography and caricature.

A national media personality who has played a significant role in the national media landscape will also be awarded.
