The 14th edition of the Agadir International Film and Migration Festival, launched on Tuesday November 14, 2017 in Agadir in partnership with the Council of the Moroccan community living abroad (CCME) and “The Cultural Initiative” of Agadir, includes conferences and debates on culture, arts and media related to Moroccans living abroad.
At the opening of this 14th edition, Mr Abdellatif Maroufi on behalf of the CCME focused his speech on the partnership the Council with the association “The Cultural Initiative” to endorse the festival Agadir.
A first conference “Moroccans of the World and Film Production”, will be directed by M.Maaroufi with the attendance the of Abdallah Khezraji the president of the Moroccan-Italian festival, the producer Fouad Challa, Dutch-based Moroccan distributor Khalid Saddaty, as well as the Dutch broadcaster Kacem Achahboun.
A round table on the performance of the Moroccans living abroad in media, culture and creation is also programmed and will be directed by Mr Aziz Rifki on behalf of the CCME. This meeting will be attended by Samira Djouadi, General Delegate of -the French TV-TF1 Foundation, the Moroccan-Belgian actor, M’Barek Belkouk and director Malika Zairi.
Another conference will be held on the theme : “Cinema and territory: what interactions ?” led by Mr Abdessadek El Alem who advocates the city of Ouarzazate and its region through cinema.
At the Rialto Cinema of the southern city of Agadir, the public will have the chance to watch films and short films as part of the official competition. Most of the features deal with issues of migration with the attendance of their directors, producers or actors.
The feature film jury is chaired by Mr Idrissa Ouedraogo, the Burkinabe director, winner of the French Film Festival of Cannes and winner of the Panafricain Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO), while the short film is chaired by Moroccan director Mustapha Madmoune.
