‘I am an Immigrant’ poster proves immigration is good for Britain

Immigration has a positive effect on life in the UK.
That’s the message behind this poster which has had a huge success following a crowd-funding appeal.
The striking ‘I am an immigrant campaign’ was created by the Movement Against Xenophobia, and features posters adorned with the images of 15 real-life immigrants who were snapped by Vogue photographer Philip Volkers.
They’re now on display at 400 London Tube stations after more than £44,000 was raised for the campaign, and larger posters are adorning billboards at railways stations nationwide.

As the general election draws nearer, immigration has become a key issue of contention, with all the main political parties promising to tighten border controls, after polls ranked the issue as being one of the most important concerns for voters.

However, Movement Against Xenophobia has said that the campaign ‘celebrates’ immigration.

‘Immigrants are part of the fabric of our society’, they said.
‘It’s time to celebrate, not vilify them’.
