Rabat(Map) – Nine migrants died, including 3 babies, when their inflatable boat sank off the northern coats of Tangier and Fnideq, local authorities said.
Twenty-one other migrants, who were onboard the same boat, were saved, the Wilaya of Tangier said in a statement.
Four units of the Royal Navy and two helicopters of the Royal Gendarmerie were mobilized during the rescue operations, the same source said.
