The conclusion of the International Symposium on climate changes in Africa

The International Symposium on "Climate Changes: New Approaches, New Technologies, New Opportunities, Involvement of African Skills from « Here and Elsewhere" ended on Saturday evning, November 12, 2016 in Marrakech.

Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary-General of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad ‘CCME), presided the closing session and began by  thanked those who took part part to the meeting : politicians, researchers, presidents of universities, researchers from African countries, Europe and North America.

He also welcomed the content of the recommendations and said the CCME will do its best to their implementation and persue the actions taken during the symposium. Mr. Boussouf also promised to bring these recommendations to any forum in which the CCME will participate, with its partners in Morocco and abroad.

"Work on skills mobility will now be done in collaboration with African institutions and actions will be taken to create a lobby of African diaspora scientists for the challenges of the continent," Boussouf said.

Mr Boussouf reassured that "the CCME will deepen research on the definition of the status of the climate refugee, with the same interest as for the issue of migration, since migration is an essential value for the  humanity. "There are 300,000 million migrants around the world, if they were to constitute a country, it would certainly be among the most populated in the world," Boussouf concluded

 

The recommendations of the symposium:

1-   Education system facing the challenges of climate change: education, research, training and cooperation.

Two recommendations were made : set up a national inter-university commission on climate change, which will be declared in inter-university commissions African international inter-university commissions "and" positioning climate change issues in higher education pedagogical engineering.

2-   Tourism, Cities and Governance

Take into account the cultural specificities of sustainable advancement and climate change in the development of the tourism industry" and "Integration of climate change in local development of the territories ".

3-   Biodiversity, food safety and health, waters and forests, coastal     systems

Developing eco-citizenship for the adaptation to climate change in Africa ​​and set up a scientific governance Governmental research and early warning indicators

       4-Resources and energy efficiency, carbon

          The integration of women in the process of evolutive adaptation of      climate change" and "the appropriation, by Africa, of technologies Energy production and product recycling ".

        5-Investment, finance, green taxation, entrepreneurship

          Equitable redistribution of financing for climate changes, with    agriculture as a priority

        The establishment of joint projects between the State and the   sponsorship for cooperation with private funding "and" Africa's ownership   of climate change projects with the support of the international community ".

       6-Biodiversity, food safety and health, waters and forests, coastal systems

         Developing eco-citizenship for an adaptation to climate change in  Africa ​​

       Setting up scientific governance Governmental research and early warning indicators

      7-Resources and energy efficiency, carbon

,        The integration of women in the process of evolutive adaptation of climate change

      The approval, by Africa, of technologies, Energy production and recycling products

     8- Investment, finance, green taxation, entrepreneurship
