Event: "Morocco in the Anglo Saxon Writings: Between Historical Relations and Cultural Otherness"

"Morocco in the Anglo Saxon Writings: Between Historical Relations and Cultural Otherness" is the theme of a conference to be held October 23 in Ifrane, at the initiative of the High Commissioner for former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army. Launched in partnership with Al Akhawayn University, the symposium aims to promote the historical memory and disseminate the noble values ​​of citizenship and patriotism among young people.

This meeting, to which will take part, a panel of researchers and academics intends to enrich the debate on the Moroccan-British Joint historical memory. The discussions will cover several areas, including "Moroccan-British relations during the 19th century and early 20th century", "The coast of southern Morocco through the Anglo-Saxon literature, "" Moroccan explore America, "" the image of Moroccan women in Anglo-Saxon literature "and Shakespeare in the Moroccan theater.

Moreover a reading of the work of the researcher Khalid Ben Esseghir in regards to the bilateral relations between Morocco and Britain is also scheduled.

Hosted by the AUI's School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the event is open to the public from 9 am to 5pm.
