Oslo: Cultural diversity implemented in the exchange between Morocco and Norway

Tuesday, 09 December 2014

Cultural diversity is a factor that helps to enrich the exchange between Morocco and Norway, said Morocco's ambassador in Oslo, Saadia El Alaoui.

Speaking at a cultural event in the Norwegian capital, organized by "Mosaic", an association of friendship between the two countries, Ms. El Alaoui also noted the importance of cultural ties for the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields and the need to cultivate a spirit of openness to different cultures.

While recalling the density of relations between the two kingdoms, the diplomat highlighted the active role of Moroccans living in the Scandinavian country to promote these human exchanges and their full integration in the host countries, including devoting great importance to community work and volunteerism.

The activities of "Mosaic" and other Moroccan associations of civil society are a voluntary incentive pattern in cultural and educational fields, she further stated.

The cultural event, followed by a diverse attendance, not only served as an opportunity to highlight the role of the Moroccan community in the cultural rapprochement but also helped with promoting the image of Morocco in the northern kingdom.

In addition to the screening of a Palestinian film, the audience was rewarded with a musical show performed by troops from Morocco, Afghanistan and Somalia.

The NGO Mosaic aims, through cultural and social activities to help strengthen the links between the two communities and beyond to the development of ties between the two countries
