1 hour for a book: "Careful neighboring, Moroccan-Spanish relations from the death of Hassan II to the abdication of Juan Carlos"

Thursday, 19 February 2015

Moroccan journalist Nabil Driouch came to present in the pavilion of the CCME his book " Careful neighboring” on the Moroccan-Spanish relations from the death of Hassan II to the abdication of Juan Carlos which highlights the views Moroccan officials have on the various cases over the eventful history of the two countries.

"This book is the result of a long process, 4 years precisely" reveals Mr. Driouch who said he was inspired by Spanish journalists, which in the course of their work, published books on Morocco.

Nabil Driouch reverses the situation and decided to go to the field to shed light on the bilateral relations between Morocco and Spain "I've been dealing with withholding of information, sources that require the cover of the anonymity, several obstacles "that resulted in this roadmap of 205 pages with four chapters on the Morocco-Spain equation.

Nabil Driouch tackled this theme after sufficiently being informed on the internal workings of the Spanish political sphere and after working with the elite of the Iberian countries. His posture has changed from that of a simple journalist to a specialist on the issue of Spain .

This book was talked about on the other side of the Mediterranean especially that it reveals the position of the official Moroccan side on bilateral relations; Spanish media were particularly interested in the case of the Laila island that probably marks the most critical case of the recent history of the two countries.

Nabil Driouch sealed his speech with this statement "We cannot understand the history of Morocco without considering that of Spain" before revealing that a second book that chronicles his adventures and experiences as a Moroccan in Spain is in the works.
