An hour for a book: Yemma

Saturday, 21 February 2015

The public had expressed willingness to read in Arabic "Yemma" the novel by Mohamed Benzekour, something the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad has committed to make it happen a year ago.

The consecration of this promise was held at CCME pavilion on the margins of the book fair where the author was able to present his book which recounts the touching biography of his mother.

This book pays tribute to her and Mohamed Benzekour, to remain faithful to the thoughts of his mother, intervened in Amazigh

BenzakorBenzakor’s mother suffered from a brain hemorrhage which affected her ability to talk, move and remember struggle is told in a mold made of sadness and beauty, a high emotional story that communicates the frustration of a Moroccan mother and her son in a Dutch hospital.

Ms Benzekour is unfortunately not a single, isolated case in the Netherlands. Many first generation immigrants who have reached an advanced stage of their lives find themselves supported by geriatric institutions.

But are these institutions ready to provide them with dignity and take into account their cultural and religious intimacy? "This question is more pressing and needs to be addressed .
