Rabat: Tribute ceremony to 51 women journalists from the Moroccan Diaspora

A tribute was paid Saturday night in Rabat, to 51 women journalists working in different media in the four corners of the world, in the presence of many MPs, government officials and many artists including Hanane El Fadili who performed on the occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony organized on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day under the theme "Moroccan world journalists honored," the minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs, Mr. Anis Birou said he was proud of the journey of Moroccan journalists working in 18 countries who have demonstrated courage in a very competitive field.

This celebration, which was an opportunity to express respect and gratitude to all Moroccan women, followed the tribute made last year to researchers and scientific Moroccan women around the world, said Mr. Birou.

Trophies were awarded to several Moroccan women journalists working in Russia, France, Argentina, the United States, Italy and Bahrain in recognition of their professionalism in their host countries .

During the evening, a debate has been launched to starting thinking about the creation of the network of women journalists here and abroad. Participants in the debate were unanimous in stressing the need to agree on a meeting to prepare for the official launch of this network with the aim of sharing knowledge and experience between the different journalists.
