Austria: Moroccan Hamid Lechhab elected for the third time in the City Council of Feldkirch

Dr. Hamid Lechhab, of Moroccan origin, was elected for the third time in the City Council of Feldkirch (Austria) during the municipal elections.

This member of the Green Party, second political force in Feldkirch, after the Social Democrats, is also part of several committees of the City Council of this city, including the integration Committee, the Committee on Social Affairs and the Committee on Youth.

Hamid Lechhab is active in the cultural field, particularly in terms of promoting dialogue between various cultures. Among his achievements, the translation from German into Arabic of philosophical and psychological works. This specialist on the German psychoanalyst Erich Fromm was the first Arab to receive the international award Erich Fromm in 2004.

Note that the town of Feldkirch has a special history with Morocco. In fact, the city has hosted just before the end of the Second World War, the Moroccan soldiers who fought for France.
