Call for the Moroccan skills residing in the UAE to contribute to Morocco's development process

The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics, Aziz Rabbah, called Tuesday in Dubai, Moroccan skills, residing in the UAE, to contribute to the development process of Morocco.

At a meeting organized by the Moroccan financial club, with Moroccan senior executives established in the UAE, the Minister also called those skills to contribute to the promotion of foreign investment in Morocco.

M. Rabbah, also recalled that kingdom is counting on all of the Moroccan skills inside and outside of the country, to consolidate its democracy economic and institutional building, noting that Morocco lives now a genuine economic and social renaissance under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

In this sense, he highlighted the important development of the Moroccan economy in recent years and the potential and advantages offered by Morocco in all fields.

He also referred to the major reforms undertaken by the Kingdom with the aim of promoting investment and improve the business environment through the adoption of a new legislation, the simplification of administrative procedures and the signing of a large number of free trade agreements with several countries, whose population exceeds one billion people.

The minister also stressed that the implementation by Morocco of sectoral strategies in various areas, including agriculture, industry, transport, logistics, marine fisheries, energy and Tourism, allowed to have a clear strategic vision that meets the demands and aspirations of investors.

Mr. Rabbah said that this ambitious vision is accompanied by the work of major development programs in all areas for the next 20 years with an investment amounting to 600 billion dirhams.

For his part, the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment Promotion Hamid Benfdil, gave an overview of the efforts made by the agency to promote foreign investment, noting also that the agency also works to promote domestic investment.

He further stressed that investment promotion is the responsibility of all stakeholders, praising the coordinated and participatory action of different actors in this field, including, embassies, ministries, regional centers of investment and territorial officials.

Mr. Benfdil noted that the Moroccan expertise located abroad is able to play an important role in promoting foreign investment in Morocco.
