UK: “I’m an Immigrant”; a poster campaign to celebrate immigration

A new social campaign against racism and anti-immigration has been launched in the UK.

Entitled “I am an immigrant”, the poster campaign have caused quite a stir on Twitter as it shows the images of 15 immigrants in different occupations from a barrister to a mental health nurse and a fireman with messages telling their story and how they contribute to Britain’s diversified society.

The campaign was organized by the Movement Against Xenophobia and paid for through crowdfunding. The billboard posters can be seen in subway and train stations and on billboards all around the UK.

The aim of the ‘I’m an immigrant’ campaign in the UK is to debunk the myths related to immigration and give people the opportunity to think of immigration in a positive way
