Oslo: Moroccan artistic ceremony in the honor of immigrant women

An artistic evening was organized this weekend in Oslo in honor of migrant women, as part of a Moroccan cultural event held in the Norwegian capital from 2 to 21 June.

The evening, organized at Paleet center, was held in the presence of several Moroccans residing in Norway and in celebration of the nearing of the holy month of Ramadan.

The event, organized by the Embassy of Morocco in Norway, was marked by a show of a Gnawa music group and other popular music genres.

A session of henna drawing was also organized on this occasion in favor of women, besides the presentation of Moroccan traditional delicacies reflecting the richness of Moroccan gastronomy.

Several Moroccan expats in Norway have expressed their joy for the organization of such an initiative which enabled them to know some of their compatriots settled in the Scandinavian country.

As to the Norwegian women present, this evening event was an adequate opportunity to learn more about the Moroccan authentic heritage.

The evening brought together several women working in economic and cultural fields, as well as many members of the Arab community in Norway.

This Moroccan cultural event, organized in Oslo by” la Maison de l’Artisan” under the Ministry of Handicraft and the social and solidarity economy in partnership with the Paleet Norwegian center, aims to put forward the relations of friendship between Morocco and Norway, to exchange expertise between the two countries and examine ways of promoting Moroccan crafts in the Scandinavian country.

This meeting was also an opportunity for Moroccan artisans from several cities of the Kingdom to present their creations in various fields, including leather goods, pottery and tapestry.
