Twenty-two ships were mobilized as part of the host operation of Moroccans living abroad (MRE) "Marhaba 2015," as well as a reserve fleet that will intervene when necessary, said Tuesday in Rabat, the minister responsible for Moroccans living abroad and Migration Affairs, Anis Birou.

The minister, who was responding to an oral question in the House of Representatives on "Marhaba 2015," described it as "unique in the world".

"This operation requires the mobilization of areal, sea and land transportation as well as the implementation of security measures," said Mr. Birou, who also highlighted the role played by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, particularly in terms of social support for MRE.

Mr. Birou also recalled the national MRE strategy focuses on strengthening the identity and Moroccan culture, the protection of rights and interests of MRE and improving their socio-economic conditions.

The Minister highlighted especially in this context a range of measures encouraging MREs to invest in Morocco, including the funds for the support of investment projects of MREs and creating a website facilitating the exchange of information.
