An iftar in all British mosques in memory of the 2005 London bombings

Wednesday, 08 July 2015

Mosques throughout the UK have welcomed, Monday, July 6, the British of all faiths for an iftar in loving memory of the victims of the London bombings in 2005.

Initiated by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), the event was attended by several leaders of other faiths, as well as representatives of civil society from around the country.

"As citizens of this great city, we share the concerns and fears of other Londoners. We use the same means of transportation and we work in the same buildings and any attack is an attack against all of us, "said the secretary general of MCB in his address, urging" the British authorities to work hand in hand with the Muslim community for a more effective fight against terrorism. "

For the record, four -including three explosions in the subway and in an autobus- were perpetrated on 7 July 2005. 56 people died and 700 were injured in the terrorist attack carried out by four young British Islamists of Pakistani, Egyptian and Syrian origins.
