Marrakech : Arrival of HM the King on the location of the COP22

His Majesty King Mohammed VI accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, arrived on Tuesday 15 november 2016,  at Bab Ighli, the location which houses the works of the 22nd Conference of the Parties To the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22).

HM the King was greeted on his arrival by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Mrs Patricia Espinosa and COP22 President Salaheddine Mezouar.

The 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, will pursue its meetings until 18 November, aims to make operative the Paris Climate Agreement, which entered into effect on 4 November, and hasten the action before 2020. It’s final goal abides in  reducing the impact of climate change and at the same time respecting the human rights set out in the agreement.

This global meeting, « A conference in Africa and for Africa », is also a unique circumstance for the participants to discuss crucial subjects related principally to agriculture, food security, energy, forests, Industry, transportation and water.
