Meeting: Cooperation and exchange of expertise at the CCME with a delegation from Mali

Mr. Abdellah Boussouf, Secretary General of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) met, Tuesday, October 29 at the council in Rabat, a Malian delegation headed by Mr. Amadou Koita, Minister the Malians living abroad .

During the meeting, Mr. Boussouf gave an overview on the work of the Council and the themes dealing with youth, culture, worship, gender issues and political participation which the themes of several studies and seminars organized in Morocco and in the host countries.

He also talked about, the exchange of expertise on migration and mobilization of skills, adding that "Africa has a strong community in the world, especially in Europe, who should be aware of its contribution to the countries of origin and the host countries ".

"We live in the same continent and face the same problems, so we must create a synergy of actions between the institutions of different African countries in order to face everything together," he said.

Adding, the CCME had chosen the theme "Africa, the source of mobility" for its participation in the 2014 International Book and Publishing Fair focused on the prosperity and originality of the African continent.

For his part, the Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs paid tribute to "the permanent and generous interest of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for Africa".

He said his country had "4 million nationals abroad, 85% of them are in Africa, 1.5 million in Ivory Coast and 650,000 in France". "The Malian diaspora contributes 15% of GDP," said Mr. Koita.

Mr. Mahamadou Camara, Permanent Secretary of the High Council of Malians Abroad (HCME) exposed for his part, the goals of his institution which was "created in 1991 and represented in the different institutions of the Republic of Mali, including the Council of Communities and to the Economic and Social Council ".

"The HCME is interested in the expectations of a population of traders and workers living essentially in 65 African countries."

The members of the Malian delegation are in Morocco until November 1, 2019. They had meetings with the Moroccan Deputy Minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad and members of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans living abroad.
