With the support of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME), the Polo del 900 Cultural Centre will be hosting a performance of the play “Pietra Alta” in the city of Turin, on Wednesday 12 June 2024. The play is written and directed by Abdelmadjid El Fergie, a Moroccan journalist and theatre director living in Italy.
‘Pietra Alta’ is the story of a group of young boys from the Turin suburbs, specifically the Pietra Alta district, who wanted to stage a play in the city centre to make their voices heard.
To realise their dream, they decide to meet young students who recently arrived in Italy and were taking drama courses. They needed their help to create a social laboratory in order to work together on the script for a drama.
A piece based on a book they had found in the library of the local community/youth centre, entitled: ‘From Morocco to Italy…. A Practical Guide to Living in Italy”, a book published by the Moroccan Expatriate Council in partnership with the Patronato Acli Trade Union.
